Day 41

Good Morning!

We reached another milestone last night -- the plumpies slept through the night!!!! When I woke up at 4:00 a.m. I had the instant realization that I had not been awake between 1 - 2 a.m. as usual, and I thought -- as all parents will understand -- that the plumpies must have all died during the night. Thankfully, they hadn't!

Day 40

A little weary this morning -- there is always so much to do, and I bet you are like me in that visitors prompt at least some attempt at orderliness. Note that I said attempt -- I need to have all visitors sign the following: " I, ___________________, agree not to comment, judge, or even notice things that need cleaning, replacing, painting or tossing out. I will not hold Mary-Ann liable for holes in my socks, pants, shirt, toes or fingers. I will not complain or act fussy when I sit in an unnoticed pee spot. Finally, I agree that pictures of me can be shared with the universe via the Blog, and I understand the pictures will be unflattering IF I break any part of this agreement."

Day 39

It is a winter wonderland here in western Montana this morning -- here is the view from our deck:

Day 38

All is well here at Plumpie Central as we prepared for Frantic Friday. Dear Husband has gone to Utah for long-planned events, including a big family reunion over Thanksgiving, and so Dear Daughter came up to be the Puppy Nanny today -- and that is no easy trek for her: almost eight hours of driving and the weather has been less than ideal for travel.

Day 37

Good Morning to all!

I think we will all need to agree that trust is a challenging and touchy topic, probably because nobody wants to be considered untrustworthy! Therefore, when we think somebody doesn't trust us, we get mad, offended, hurt, upset, etc. and blame the other person for being too __________ (insert unflattering word/s).

Day 36

Good Morning!

Anonymous posted yesterday that "...someone had to trust you...", with the implication of the need for reciprocity (i.e., perhaps I should be more trusting of others) -- what an excellent opportunity to talk about trust!

FIVE WEEKS (aka Day 35)

Five weeks old today -- wow! As I said last night, the changes that a puppy goes through in these early weeks is just amazing to me. Five weeks ago they were blind, deaf, and extremely vulnerable in all ways -- and this morning they were running and twirling and biting my feet and just basically creating havoc. Again I am reminded -- a puppy is life in fast forward.

Day 34

I am glad you enjoyed the videos -- I wish we could do more outside but the plumpies were shivering after four minutes! Clearly we need to send Dear Husband out to buy them small coats! After all, we know how much he loves to shop for dog clothes!

Day 33

We begin by wishing The Other Heidi and her new husband, Michael, BEST WISHES on their marriage; their wedding took place on 11/11/11 in California heart

Day 32

Good Morning!

It is 5:30 a.m. and the plumpies have nursed and played and been photographed, and the whelping box is clean and filled with sleeping babies -- and the big dogs have all been fed -- and I bet most of you are still sound asleep!
