Tweedy: New Country, New Name

The puppy formerly known as Tweedy is now Tika, and although she lives in Canada she is actually the puppy who is closest to us. Aysha sends us this excellent report on The Life and Times of Tika.

Can a puppy be a polymath?

Kaibab's Justice Shining Bright

It hardly seems possible that Tika has been with us a week already. She has been such an amazing addition to our family. She is bold and adventurous, which means we are proofing things we never thought were problems before.

Tika is a climber and a jumper. X-pen? No problem she says. If I cant go over, under or around…through it shall be!

Tika is a landscaper! Our yard is buried in 3 feet of snow and somehow she will still find a branch to carry around. She is particularly fond of my tall grasses, and will trot very proudly by when she successfully pulls out an 8 foot long piece.

Tika is a lover…of her big sister Kaya, and is undaunted in her quest to snuggle her new big friend. As much as Kaya continues to be impervious to her charms.

She is also a fighter…of epic battles with her big (not for long) brother Jaeger over the grunty pig, the marrow bone or the best spot on the bed. They are already an inseparable pair and I can't wait to see what trouble they get themselves into as they grow up together.

Tika is first and foremost a thinker. It is my favorite thing to watch her as she puzzles through a decision. You can never quite tell what is going on behind those dark little eyes, but you know it's going to be great when she makes up her mind. (It usually involves running, jumping and pouncing)

What a wonderful girl Tika is. I saw some of her deliberations on the puppy visit, and found her so charming. I bet she loves being one of three dogs! I am so happy to see that she likes her bunny. It makes us feel connected all the way over in California! I am so looking forward to seeing all the great things that Miss Tika will do.

Simple equation. Get ready to be outwitted at every turn. And start thinking of ways to be more interesting than dirt...
BIG wink. I think Tika sounds like a supersmart girl. Thank you all for the updates on these amazing babies.
