Spot and Dot are back!

Alison and her husband went to the local Wildlife Refuge yesterday and got some wonderful photos -- here are a couple, beginning with a Great Horned Owl!

These are also by Alison, taken on the way home from the eclipse. Claire in the Salmon River...

Sparkle and Harper...

Wednesday already -- summer is winding down, isn't it? I sure hope you are enjoying these last days of summer :)

The last days of summer are precious but I used to get depressed when anticipating warm summer days turning into a cold and snowy Nebraska landscape. Now, from my sunny Arizona perspective, non-summer days are much more enjoyable. The last days of summer are precious only because they lead to something better. Perspective on weather changes with location, a demonstration of the old saying: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." My dogs and I are looking forward to the coming cool down. Hooray winter!

The end of any season always has me really savoring them -- sunny lazy summer mornings, cozy rainy days in fall, cold nights with a fire in winter, and the amazing bouquets of spring. I love them all, and look forward to the next even as I start to miss the former.

Lovely pictures! I love owls especially.
