In Spite of That...

It went like this.  Dear Husband is a big Dodgers fan and so on Sunday night one of the Dear Sons invited Dear Husband to go to Game Six of the World Series, to be held less than 48 hours after said invitation and 1,000+ miles away. WOW! That is a Big Deal!! And so this happened...

But before that happened, Dear Husband was on the road from Montana to LA via Salt Lake City -- and that is why Zoey had diarrhea all over the bedroom on Monday. Because the Dodgers were in the World Series.

I arrived home from work on Monday with 20 minutes before Claire's puppy class (she is now a Star Puppy, BTW!) and discovered the damage. I confess that I took a deep breath (and immediately regretted it), and said, "I cannot deal with this now."

Which is why I spent the two nights Dear Husband was gone sleeping in the living room on the RV bed mattress, and getting no sleep because Zoey had to make numerous trips out -- this is Real Life with a dog on chemo.

I did recover by Tuesday, and -- in between that whole job thing -- cleaned and cleaned. Then I bought a boatload of white vinegar from Costco, rented a carpet cleaner, got more FortiFlora for Zoey, and everything is fine again.

Except that in spite of my sacrifice, the Dodgers did not win the World Series!!! There is no justice in the world, to be sure.

But, in spite of it all, Dear Husband got to see the Dodgers WIN game six and I am jealous!
ps - what would we dog owners do without vinegar and carpet cleaners. Glad everything is fine again.

So glad the trip for a long held wish came true. So very sorry for you and Zoey about the very unhappy tummy situation.

:-( I am glad she is better now. And you can sleep!
