The drive to and from Boise is about 360 miles of wild and remote...

This is not a drive on an interstate unless one goes the long way, adding nearly 200 miles. Rather, the trip is a two lane road and the majority of that is along rivers...

It is a beautiful drive...

...but treacherous in bad weather. Luckily, this time the weather cooperated. In poor weather, the interstate option is necessary to avoid winding up in the river. It is a wee bit cold to do any swimming...

There are hot springs at one point along the way, providing an interesting contrast to the cold and snow...

Bald eagles, deer, elk, bighorn sheep -- it really is like driving through a wildlife refuge. I am glad such places exist and that I get to be a regular witness to them.

And now, normal life resumes with the start of a new semester -- ready or not.

I hope your Monday is both normal and awesome.

If my Monday is awesome, it could be because of your beautiful photos. Thanks for a short trip to Idaho.

Thanks for the reminder that normal can be pretty great. It is too often overlooked.
