Morning Happenings, Decision, Mesa, NEWS

An actual and true exchange...

Harper B: I could just bite your cute skinny little legs! They are my favorite!

Karma: I could just scratch your eyeballs out!!!!

Harper B: Holy Strange Noise! Are you about to have an earthquake?!

Karma: That is growling, you big dork -- and clearly you need to hear it more often!!!! Maybe if you did you would have some manners -- besides really bad ones!!!!

Harper B: Growling?! That means nothing -- I thought you were about to explode. Fight Club!

Karma: Really?! Bring it on -- but you are not supposed to say Fight Club...

Harper B: Isn't this fun?! I love fun -- it is my favorite!

Karma: No, this is NOT fun and FYI -- you are NOT my favorite.

Harper B: Round over, let's rest.

Karma: I have a better idea -- why don't you go away?

Harper B: Oh Karma -- you know you don't mean that and that is why you are my favorite!

Karma: Karma is a bitch -- that is what I have to say about all this...

Members of the Field Mice Missing Their Loved Ones Support Group: Indeed!!!!!!

Decision: Thank you for your input, shared sense of confusion, and offers to assist -- I am assuming at least one person really will help out ;) Therefore, I am entering four dogs and all four can go if they stay out of season for that week (I will require a signed statement from each girl -- could be tricky but they are smart).

Who is going? Cadi, Zoey, Sydney, and Harper B. This combo will be the easiest to travel with (good point from Carol about that) and can do the most variety of events -- plus we can get a four generation picture since Cadi's dad, Marshall Marshall Marshall, will be there. Asia and Halo will stay home this year -- they both went last year so it seems fair...

And now we await our Mesa update -- and work on having a most excellent Saturday!!!

Mesa Update!!! From Jennifer: "I will be doing the update this morning since Alex is not here -- he got booted out due to the worm incident-ha! (Editor's Note: Alex's dad was responsible for Alex getting his little brother to eat worms -- and not the jello shooters kind you make in straws -- REAL worms!!!!).

Here is a picture of Mesa wearing Uncle Cooper's collar.  Thank goodness she will never be that big!  Although she has no respect for his size because she constantly takes his big meaty bones from him...which he doesn't seem to mind at all.

And here is a picture of the pups at Lisa's house last week.  Mesa was a perfect girl.  She slept in a soft crate for two nights without crying or eating the crate.  She traveled nicely and had a lot of fun!"

Thank you Jennifer!!!!! We hope Alex gets to come home soon!

In other children teenager news -- my niece, Elizabeth, turned THIRTEEN today!!!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!! While I object to the progression of years, I wish my cute niece a Happy Birthday!

And we have more news!!! Just got a text from Barb and Maddie (F Litter) -- Maddie earned her CD today!!! Woo Hoo and Congratulations to Barb and Maddie -- and Support Staff, Ken :)

And I have news also! I was subbing for two agility classes today and my friend, Teressa, is in one of the classes. Teressa is a tracking judge so on a whim I wrote to her this morning and asked if she could do a certification track for Harper B for Bad Ass Tracker after agility; she agreed.

Let me explain what a certification track is -- this is from the AKC Tracking Regs: "The certification test will be of a complexity equivalent to the TD test and will take place under conditions similar to such a test."

A tracking judge is the one doing the certification test, and that would be Teressa. The track, in order to be equivalent to a TD test track, is 440 - 500 yards long, aged at least 30 minutes, and has 3 - 5 turns. The track starts with a flag and ends with a glove -- and after the two start flags, the handler has no idea where the track goes or where the glove is -- the dog's job is to use her nose and follow the track to the glove -- and then indicate, "hey human -- here is that missing glove!"

And just guess what Harper B for Best Tracking Puppy Ever did?! Yep -- passed her certification test!!! What does she get for that? Four certificates that allow her to enter "real" tracking tests -- first one will be next month in Washington since she cannot even enter one until she is six months old :)

Darn proud of that Harper B for BRAVO!!!

Waahh, she is so grown-up! I need to find the picture of the three girls swimming in a pool in Palm Springs, or was it Ventura? They were all legs and arms and so little.. . . . . Happy Birthday to Elizabeth!
