More Kaibab News and Info About Camp Kaibab (by request!)

Cali says Blogs should always have pictures, and Carol notes that she misses the ability to make the pictures bigger. Okay -- I will do my best to always include pictures and Galen informs me that he already showed me how to include the whole "click and make the picture bigger" thing but I do not remember so I have to get a new lesson -- sigh.

Okay -- let's get to the news and the Camp Kaibab 2012 announcement (click Read more).

I want to congratulate Marti for a recent agility weekend with her Kaibab girls, Fiona and Purna. Fiona (D Litter) got a leg in Excellent Jumpers and also a leg in FAST, and cute Purna (F Litter) got a couple Novice Jumpers legs for her title and also a Novice Standard leg! Great job, Girlfriends!!!

And out in Colorado, Zaida Jamaica (Glitterati) was Best of Winners at a beauty pageant show on Saturday under a breeder-judge for a couple more points towards her championship, and she was Reserve Winner's Bitch on Sunday. Zaida is getting very consistent in the breed ring and I suspect will have that championship done before too long. Here is a picture of Zaida from June when she was here -- her mom clearly needs to work on her manners!

We celebrate all kinds of accomplishments but obviously cannot mention every single one on the Blog so mostly I stick to reporting show news but please know that I am also thrilled when I hear about other kinds of more private accomplishments. There is no insignificant accomplishment -- a goal achieved is always reason to celebrate.

And speaking of achieving goals, Camp Kaibab is a great way to get going on all that and have fun with other Kaibab Campers! This year we did Camp in June and combined with conformation/obedience but next year I was thinking of doing it in August and combining with two fun events -- the local agility trial and the Stevensville Creamery Picnic -- the 100th anniversary! (it is a weekend festival and not just a picnic :) Both of these events are the first weekend in August.

So we could have Camp on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning -- agility is Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday there is the big Creamery Picnic Parade in Stevensville -- super fun! So I was thinking we could have a contingent of draft dogs in carts and also any dogs too young to draft walking together in the parade, and others can do agility (or do both!) if desired (or head home if needed).

We would have non-dog activities in the heat of the day on Wednesday and Thursday -- a float trip one day and a hike up to St. Mary's Peak for those so inclined on the other day. We welcome all levels of Campers, Hikers, and Floaters :)

This Camp will be for Kaibab dogs/owners and close friends who really want to come -- we try hard to be inclusive! As always, Camp Kaibab will include the famous Kaibab scones :)

Barb asked about the dates so she could get her vacation request in early -- so here you go: Camp Kaibab 2012 will be August 1 - 3, 2012 and Agility/Creamery Picnic is August 3 - 5 -- hope you can join us for fun dog training and just lots of fun! And have a FUN day today -- don't wait until August!!

Pray that I get a job soon. Have lots of help looking at the moment and getting my resume redone. If I have a job I should be able to come, at least financially!

Count me in! I will paint Koda brown/black and leave some white and try to pass him off as a miniature!!! Or maybe I need to stay home close to the phone so I can give rides on the floating day? *giggle*

Heidi Marie!!!!!!

That was very rude!!!! Why would you stay home and wait for a call? That would make us stand around while you get ready and drive over -- you should just wait for us at Bass Creek! Or better yet -- join us and be in charge of the keys!!!

I can't BELIEVE I am going to say this, being as anti-camping as a person can possibly be, but . . . If we can get the time off, count us in! :-D
